This type of agave forms above-ground rosette, with 20-70cm long bluish leaves. Frost-resistant to -15°C. Inflorescences 2-6m high with yellow funnel flowers that are 3-6 cm long. Grows in very dry, hot and sandy areas. The plant comes from southern California.
