Slowly growing, small to medium sized type of agave. It creates a compact rosette of short and wide blue to grey leaves with short thorns on the edges. Red to yellow flowers on a high stem. Frost-resistant to -10°C. It grows up to 30-60cm. This plant comes from the Mexican state of Coahuila, where it naturally occurs in the mountains on rocky slopes up to an altitude of 2,400m.
