It is an ornamental plant and one of the smallest species of agave. It creates small, slowly growing, blue-green leaf rosettes decoratedwith soft thorns. Solidleaves of the plant have thorny edges. It grows up to 15-30cm high. It has light yellow flowers in anindeterminate inflorescence located on a stem. Frost-resistant up to -20°C, provided it is grown on a dry and well-drained site over the winter. It grows in the west of the USA in the states of Arizona, Utah and Nevada at an altitude of 1500 m.
