One of the most resistant, relatively rare species of palm trees. The stem is covered with fibers. The fan-shaped, deep green leaves can withstand temperatures up to -13°C. It is very resistant to moisture during winter. Frost-resistant up to -18°C. It comes from the foothills of the Himalayas, where it grows in a cool, humid forest at an altitude of up to 2400m.
