Deciduous tree up to 25 m tall in nature with flat treetop, comes from the north of Madagascar. Thick bottle-shaped trunk with grey-brown smooth bark. 5-9 palmate leaves, flowers with white or red petals and prominent yellow stamen. Black egg-shaped up to 30 cm wide fruit. Endemic to Madagascar.
